CLTE-XT High Frequency PCB
Introduction
Rogers CLTE-XT laminates are composites of micro-dispersed ceramic filler, PTFE and woven fiberglass reinforcement, designed to improve loss tangent while maintaining good dimensional stability. These laminates demonstrate an exceptionally low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) in the planar direction, making them particularly suitable for precision applications involving embedded resistors.
Among PTFE-based dielectric materials, CLTE-XT exhibits one of the lowest performance variances available in the market today. The product line supports comprehensive metal cladding options to accommodate diverse design needs, including standard electrodeposited copper, specialized reverse treated foil, high-performance rolled copper variants, and other specialty conductor materials.
Features
A key distinguishing feature of CLTE-XT laminates is their ultra-low dissipation factor, measuring just 0.0010 at 10 GHz operating frequency. This characteristic enables significant reduction in circuit losses while preserving the material's inherent dimensional stability - a critical combination for high-frequency designs.
The material's Z-axis thermal expansion characteristics are equally impressive, with a CTE of 20 ppm/°C, ensuring exceptional reliability for plated through-hole structures even under repeated thermal cycling conditions.
The CLTE - XT laminates have a stable dielectric constant across wide temperature ranges, with a tolerance of just +/-0.03. It ensures minimal signal distortion and optimal impedance control, giving you that extra edge in your RF applications.
PCB Capability
From a manufacturing perspective, our factory demonstrates exceptional capabilities in producing CLTE-XT PCBs. We support virtually all standard construction types, including single-sided, double-sided, conventional multilayer, and advanced hybrid board architectures.
You can select from an extensive range of dielectric thicknesses spanning from 0.130mm (5.1 mil) to 1.524mm (60 mil) to meet specific impedance control requirements.
Copper weights of 1 oz (35µm) and 2 oz (70µm) are available for CLTE-XT PCB.
The largest panel we can handle is 400mm × 500mm. It can be a single board with this size or different designs within this size.
Multiple solder mask color alternatives including green, black, blue, red, yellow and purple are offered for visual identification and aesthetic purposes.
Surface finish selections encompass the full spectrum of industry-standard options such as immersion gold, HASL, immersion silver, immersion tin, ENEPIG, bare copper, OSP, and specialized pure gold.
Typical Applications
CLTE-XT PCB has found extensive use in crucial areas such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), microwave patch antennas, phased-array radar antenna systems, and high-power RF amplifier circuits etc. Its outstanding performance in high-frequency and high-reliability applications makes it an ideal choice for these cutting-edge technologies.
Thank you for tuning in today. I’ll see you next time.
