RO3003G2 High Frequency PCB
Introduction
Rogers RO3003G2 high-frequency laminates, featuring ceramic-filled PTFE, represent an advanced evolution of Rogers' renowned RO3003 product line. Designed in response to industry feedback, RO3003G2 laminates are tailored to meet the demanding requirements of next-generation millimeter-wave automotive radar applications.
By optimizing the resin and filler composition, these laminates deliver superior performance, particularly in reducing insertion loss, making them an ideal choice for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
Features
RO3003G2 exhibits remarkable properties.
Firstly, the combination of optimized resin and filler content along with the introduction of Very Low Profile ED copper translates to Dk of 3.00 @ 10 GHz (clamped stripline method) and 3.07 @ 77 GHz (microstrip differential phase length method).
Its dissipation factor is an impressively low, amounting to 0.0011 at a frequency of 10 GHz.
The TCDk stands out -35 ppm/°C at 10 GHz and stays stable from -50 to 150 °C. This stability is key for consistent electrical performance in changing temperatures.
These laminates also show very low insertion loss of 1.3dB/inch for 5 mil laminates as measured by the microstrip differential phase length method.
RO3003G2 features copper-matched CTE of 16, 17 and 18 ppm/°C in the X, Y and Z directions respectively. This balanced CTE helps prevent thermal stress induced damage in multi-layer PCB.
Finally, RO3003G2 holds UL 94 V-0 certification, and is fully compatible with lead-free manufacturing processes.
PCB Capability
The RO3003G2 laminate is versatile and compatible with a wide range of PCB configurations, including single-sided, double-sided, multi-layer, and hybrid PCBs.
It supports copper weights of 1oz (35µm) and 2oz (70µm), catering to various design requirements.
Dielectric thickness options include 5mil (0.127mm) and 10mil (0.254mm), providing flexibility for different applications.
The maximum PCB size we can accommodate is 400mm x 500mm, ensuring suitability for both compact and larger designs.
A variety of solder mask colors, such as green, black, blue, yellow, red and purple are available to meet aesthetic and functional preferences.
Designers have plenty of surface finish options, including immersion gold, HASL, immersion silver, immersion tin, ENEPIG, OSP, bare copper, and pure gold.
Typical Applications
The RO3003G2 PCB is perfectly tailored for various sophisticated automotive applications, especially those that rely on high-frequency signal transmission: adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning systems, active brake assist, lane change assist systems, and traffic jam pilot systems etc.
