The Advantages of Using Rogers RO4003C in High-Speed Digital Designs
In today's fast-paced technological landscape, high-performance PCB materials are a necessity for any successful electronic design. Enter RO4003C, the latest offering from Rogers Corporation, a world-class manufacturer of electronic materials. This advanced PCB material is designed to deliver the utmost in electrical and mechanical performance, making it the top choice for high-frequency digital and RF applications.
RO4003C: Superior Electrical Properties
RO4003C's low dielectric constant of 3.38 at 10 GHz is a key feature that sets it apart from other high-performance PCB materials. This low dielectric constant translates into faster signal transmission and minimized signal loss, resulting in improved overall performance. Moreover, the material boasts a low loss tangent of 0.0027 at 10 GHz, indicating its superior ability to transmit electrical signals efficiently.
RO4003C: Outstanding Mechanical Properties
RO4003C's mechanical stability is second to none, a must-have for high-frequency circuits that require uncompromising integrity. Its low coefficient of thermal expansion of 12 ppm/°C guarantees that the material maintains its shape and size, even when exposed to extreme temperature fluctuations. Additionally, RO4003C's high glass transition temperature of 200°C ensures its resilience in high-temperature environments.
RO4003C: Advantages and Benefits
RO4003C's advantages make it a popular choice among electronic engineers and designers. Its compatibility with standard PCB fabrication processes makes it easy to incorporate into various applications, while its cost-effectiveness compared to other high-frequency PCB materials adds value to any design. RO4003C's suitability for high-frequency RF applications is due to its low dielectric constant and low loss tangent, while its excellent thermal stability and high glass transition temperature make it an optimal choice for heat-dissipating applications.
RO4003C: Design Guidelines for Optimal Performance
To achieve optimal performance with RO4003C, it is essential to follow specific design guidelines. These guidelines include meticulous attention to detail during fabrication, including controlled impedance, tight registration, and strict cleanliness. Adherence to these guidelines guarantees the material's electrical and mechanical properties throughout the design process.
In Conclusion
RO4003C is the cutting-edge PCB material that delivers exceptional electrical and mechanical performance. Its low dielectric constant and low loss tangent make it the top choice for high-frequency RF and high-speed digital applications, while its excellent thermal stability and high glass transition temperature make it optimal for heat-dissipating applications. With strict adherence to the design guidelines, RO4003C can help electronic engineers and designers achieve the highest level of performance in their designs.
Experience unparalleled signal integrity with RO4003C
Bicheng Limited has recently launched a new PCB material featuring Rogers RO4003C. This double-sided, 2-layer PCB material comes with lead-free processing and an operation range of -40℃ to +85℃. In this article, we will take a closer look at the basic specifications of the new-launched PCB.
PCB Material and Construction Details
The new-launched PCB material features a base copper of 35um + plating and a RO4003C core of 20mil (0.508mm) with base copper of 35um + plating. The finished board thickness is 0.68mm, with a finished copper weight of 1.3 oz (2 mils) across all layers. The via plating thickness is 1 mil, and the surface finish comprises Electroless Nickel and Immersion Gold (ENIG). The top solder mask is green, and the bottom solder mask is also green. The board dimensions are 116mm x 147mm, with a tolerance of +/- 0.15mm. The minimum trace/space is 5/5 mils, and the minimum hole size is 0.4mm. No blind/buried vias are present, and the PCB comes with no top or bottom silkscreen.
Impedance Matching and Via Filling
The new-launched PCB material does not feature impedance matching. However, the 0.4mm via is filled with resin and capped by copper using IPC-4761 Type VII.
PCB Statistics and Contact Info
The new-launched PCB material features 80 components, 143 total pads, 61 thru-hole pads, 82 top SMT pads, 0 bottom SMT pads, 101 vias, and 46 nets. In case of any technical questions, interested parties can contact Sally Mao at sales@bichengpcb.com.
