[Hot Spot] Huawei’s new phones drive PCB shipments

According to Taiwanese media Economic Daily, the launch of Huawei’s new Mate 60 Pro series of mobile phones has become a hot topic in the market. Research estimates that Huawei’s mobile phone specifications are difficult to compare with the iPhone and Samsung flagship phones.

However, mainland China’s domestic brands Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo and Honor overlap with Huawei in terms of market positioning and sales areas. Because the launch of Huawei's new machine will still be beneficial to the shipment and destocking of related PCB Huatong and CCL Materials Taiwan Optoelectronics.

Mainland Chinese brands such as Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo and Honor face direct competition from Huawei's Mate 60 series of mobile phones. Sales are expected to decline by 4% to 9% next year. However, the mobile phone market shipments are expected to pick up in the second half of this year, mainly driven by Apple, Huawei and others.

Currently, there are different forecasts for Huawei’s mobile phone shipments this year. Conservative and average estimates suggest that Huawei will ship 6 million to 10 million units of new phones such as the Mate 60 series this year. More optimistic estimates predict that shipments in the second half of the year will be about 20 million units, which will directly affect non-Apple brands in mainland China.

According to the news, Huawei Mate 60 series and Mate X5 folding screen are equipped with Kirin 9000S 5G chip. Among them, Huawei Mate 60 series mobile phones have been shipped and activated more than 600,000 units. Huawei’s early 5G chip orders of xxKK (1KK means 1 million) will not all be used for the Mate 60 series. The first priority is to replenish the entire product line, including Pocket small folding, MatePad tablet, nova, etc. There are also new Kirin 5G products on the way this year.
